Oven Roasted Beer Can Chicken

Ingredient

1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp garlic onion
1 Tbsp dried oregano
Salt & Pepper
1 12 oz can beer
1 3 lbs whole chicken

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Blend all spices in a small bowl.
  3. With your hand, separate the chicken’s skin from the breast and rub ¾ of spice the mix under the skin onto the breast.
  4. Rub remaining mix on the chicken’s skin.
  5. Pour ⅓ of the beer into a 9x12 baking dish
  6. Poke 5 holes around the top ring of the can to allow the beer to escape.
  7. Insert beer into the bottom end of the chicken and place standing up in the baking dish using the legs to help stabilize the bird.
  8. Place in oven with the breast facing the door. Cook for 50 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven. Carefully remove the hot can from the chicken. The remaining beer will spill, that’s fine.
  10. Cover chicken in aluminum foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
